“This is guitar music made from the heart.”
Jon Herington, guitarist with Steely Dan and the Jon Herington Band
music is about art reflecting the beauty of life, Where the spectrum of human emotion and experience finds honest expression. it allows us to connect to something beyond ourselves and identify as part of a larger whole.
We share the same needs, loves, and fears. We are all searching for the same peace.
The heart knows. The answers are there. We have to quiet our mind. We have to listen.
A grateful heart knows unconditional love. When we align our mind, body, and spirit, they work as one toward this common goal.
Love is what we are. It is what we are here to do.
It is my hope that this music is a reflection of that purpose.

Some notes on my recordings
Innerplay
Recorded at Bell Sound in Los Angeles toward the end of 2013. Basic tracks were cut live, I overdubbed guitars, ukulele, piano, rhodes, and organ. I’ve described this album as a cross between Pat Metheny and John Mayer.
Hope and Possibility
A solo album I recorded and mixed during the month of November in 2016. This collection of 20 short selections features a variety of acoustic guitars and ukulele.
Hear / Know
Inspired by John Abercrombie’s 1978 recording, Characters, Hear / Know is a 40-minute, through-composed piece for electric and acoustic guitars. Released in 2018, Hear / Know is the electric follow-up to Hope and Possibility.
Evolution Imminent
This 2019 album welcomes Blair Sinta on drums. I brought in the songs and he knocked them out in two days. The guitar solo on “Grasp for the Unknown” is from the original 2008 demo I recorded in my Chicago apartment.
Momento
Momento began as a pandemic project and collaboration with Brazilian percussionist Rogerio Boccato. I wanted to work with Rogerio since first hearing him at The Jazz Standard in 2011. I sent him the songs, he recorded his parts in NYC, then sent them back to me. In January 2022, I went back to school to study transpersonal psychology and the album was put on hold. Two years later, Isamu, Pera, and I completed tracking Momento at Tritone Recording in Glendale.
Special thanks to Patrick Dillon Curry, whose wonderful engineering, mix, and master brought these songs to life.
